IMPORTANT MESSAGE

Internet problems have noticeably increased since COVID-19 began. Landlords and/or Employers sending applications by FAX are most negatively affected. Rental and/or Employment Applications are not making it into our internet system for processing as in past years. Experts tell us this is due to increased Internet traffic as people are not in school or in office as usual. The Internet system is overloaded. People are on the Internet causing traffic-jams! SOLUTIONS: 1. Landlord and/or Employer enters the Rental and/or Employment Application into the system online; 2. Landlord/Employer directs applicant to enter information using our ONLINE APPLICATION. WANT FASTER TURN-AROUND TIME? Use option 1 or 2 described above.

We at Orca are doing everything possible to process applications in the usual timely manner. Please help us keep up the quick turn-around time avoid faxing in applications.

Why is Orca Information, Inc. appearing as an inquiry on my credit report?

Orca Information is a background check company for the employment and tenant screening industry. The inquiry on your credit report indicates that one of our clients submitted a background-screening request.

If you feel that this inquiry was made in error, first answer these questions:

  1. Did you apply for an apartment, potentially the apartment you're currently living at, around the time of the inquiry?
  2. Did you sign as co-signer/guarantor for anyone else's application around the time of the inquiry?
  3. Was your lease up for renewal around the time of the inquiry?
  4. Did you apply for employment around the time of the inquiry?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, then in all likelihood, an apartment, landlord or employer we service submitted a credit inquiry about you.

 

How do I request a copy of my screening report?

If within the last 60 days you've been denied housing or have had any adverse action taken against you based on information provided by Orca Information, Inc to the property at which you applied, you are entitled to a free copy of your screening report.

A request for report must be submitted via US mail, it must include a copy of your social security card, a copy of a government issued photo ID and an address we can mail the report back to.

You are also entitled to a copy of your credit report annually from each of the nationwide credit reporting companies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, which you obtain from www.annualcreditreport.com, the only official source for the free credit report to which you're entitled.

 

How can I dispute information contained in my screening report?

If you're an applicant and you believe that information contained in your screening is inaccurate or incomplete, please contact a member of the Orca team at (800) 341-0022.

How do I cancel my application?

Contact the property to which you applied and let them know that you wish to withdraw your application.
